Junior Engineer Recruitment 2024 by Staff Selection Commission - Detailed Notification

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued a notification for the recruitment of Junior Engineers (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) for various organizations and offices of the Government of India. This recruitment drive aims to fill up a total of 1,214 vacancies across multiple departments and organizations. The selected candidates will be appointed to Group 'B' (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial posts in Level-6 (Rs 35,400-1,12,400/-) of the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix.

Junior Engineers are responsible for planning, executing, and maintaining various engineering projects and works related to their respective disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical).   • For posts with age limit up to 30 years: Born not earlier than 02-08-1994 and not later than 01-08-2006
  • For posts with age limit up to 32 years: Born not earlier than 02-08-1992 and not later than 01-08-2006

Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms for different categories.


Educational Qualification
  • Junior Engineer (Civil): Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute
  • Junior Engineer (Mechanical): Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical): Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute

Additional experience requirements may apply for certain organizations.


Nationality Candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

How to Apply?

  1. Visit the official website of the SSC (Headquarters) at https://ssc.gov.in.
  2. If you haven't already registered, generate your One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website.
  3. After successful OTR, proceed to fill out the online application form for the Junior Engineer examination.
  4. Upload a recent photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
  5. Select the appropriate examination centers and engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical).
  6. Make the online fee payment of Rs. 100/- (if applicable) using the available payment options.
  7. Review and submit the completed application form before the closing date.
