Selection Process

The selection process for the post of Sub-Inspector (Executive) in RPF and RPSF comprises the following stages:


  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT):
    • The CBT will be conducted to assess the candidates' knowledge and skills in Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness.
    • The test will be of 90 minutes duration and will have 120 questions.
    • There will be negative marking, where 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
    • The minimum qualifying marks will be 35% for UR, EWS, and OBC-NCL candidates, and 30% for SC and ST candidates.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT):
    • Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in the CBT will be called for PET and PMT.
    • The PET will involve events like 1600 meters run (for male candidates) or 800 meters run (for female candidates), long jump, and high jump.
    • The PMT will assess the candidates' height, chest measurements (for male candidates), and other physical parameters as per the prescribed standards.
    • Ex-Servicemen candidates will be exempted from the PET but will have to undergo the PMT.
  3. Document Verification (DV):
    • Candidates who clear the PET and PMT will be called for DV, where they will have to submit the original documents for verification.
    • The documents required include educational certificates, caste/category certificates, discharge certificates (for Ex-Servicemen), and other relevant documents.
    • Appointment to the post will be subject to the candidates successfully clearing the medical examination and other necessary checks.
